  1. Under the 窶廾ptions窶 menu, there are several choices of when Shutdown FX will fade the screen to black.  To turn off Shutdown FX, select 窶廸ever fade窶.

This option takes effect immediately.  This means that, if you select 窶廸ever fade窶, Shutdown FX will not fade on restart or shutdown, even if the Shutdown FX system extension (or startup application) loaded when you booted your Mac.  If you select anything other than 窶廸ever fade窶, Shutdown FX will fade the screen the first time you restart and/or shutdown, even if the Shutdown FX system extension did not load when you booted your Mac.
